Using OBD Fusion with Hudly

When it comes to the Hudly, we know our community loves to hear about new apps and how to use them. This week's featured application is OBD Fusion, which is available for both iOS and Android devices. Our favorite apps are the ones that include a built-in HUD mode, which OBD Fusion does fantastically. Of course, you can find a more comprehensive list of our favorite apps here.

OBD Fusion, created by the development team OCTech, has a fantastic area of options for your device.

The Main features include:

Settings are available directly in OBD Fusion. You can easily change adapter configurations, create your own PIDs, and edit your vehicle information.

Diagnostics provides access trouble codes, freeze frame data, live PID data, and a full diagnostic report that you can save and send to your mechanic.

Dashboards are fully customizable. You can create your own dashboard layouts, selecting the PIDs that you want to see. You can also fully style the gauges, or use the built-in templates for quickly changing styles.

Maps display your route on a live map. You can select a parameter such as vehicle speed or fuel economy, and display a color-coded path based on the value of that parameter. When offline, you can find where you parked your car and get walking directions.

Monitors show you whether your vehicle is ready for emissions testing. In addition, you can view oxygen sensor test results, Mode $06 data, and vehicle information such as the VIN and calibration IDs.

Logs allow you to graph live data. You can graph up to four parameters in real-time! You can also access all of your logged CSV files, and open the files in Maps or upload the files to Dropbox.

We went ahead a pulled a few reviews from fellow Hudly owners that they wrote about the application so you could see what they thought, too!

We know that most of our fans are still obsessed with watching movies, but when you're ready to branch out, we think that OBD Fusion provides an exhilarating driving option for everyone!

3 Ways Head-Up Displays Make Navigation Amazing

3 Ways Head-Up Displays Make Navigation Amazing

Driving can be stressful enough without the added stress of having to either constantly look down at your phone for navigation or use your vehicle's outdated navigation system. Thankfully, the Hudly head-up display provides an alternative solution that puts you in control of which navigation apps you want to mirror from your phone and projects them in front of you as you drive.

1) Never missing a turn is easy when you've got a map floating out in front of you. There's a reason that every new car seems to feature a fancy head-up display (HUD). installed from the manufacturer. While being an expensive option ($1,500 on average), the versatility of a head-up display and the ability to see things like your speed and navigation directions floating out in front of you while driving is invaluable.

2) Projecting your favorite navigation apps onto the road ahead makes sure you're using your favorite navigation apps while never having to worry about using an outdated program. We love apps like Sygic, which is specifically made for head-up displays. or looking at your vehicle's outdated navigation system. Instead of playing the eye shuffle game with your phone, trying to figure out if that's your turn coming up or not, a good head-up display like the Hudly can mirror any applications from your phone, putting you in control of what navigation tool you want to use. Having the power to choose your favorite navigation app mirrored seamlessly through a crystal clear head-up display like the Hudly puts you in control of the drive better than ever before.

3) Staying safe on the road is much easier when you're not looking down, left, or right. Many people have made the mistake of settling for a cheap $30 windshield-phone mount, which is very dangerous and distracting. The safest and most efficient ways to use navigation while driving is through the utilization of a head-up display that allows you to keep your eyes forward at all times.

Besides, you wouldn't want to miss out on the adventure while you're busy staring down at the phone, would you?

Movie night for 1 with Hudly

It's a beautiful night. You're bored and looking for something to do. You decide to drive someplace, anything to pass the time. You head out towards the countryside, noticing the stars above beginning to pop out of the sky as the lights of the city leave you behind. You've kept your eyes on the road, soaking in the sights while keeping up with your navigation, speed, and other important information as if it were floating out in front of you through your Hudly.

You stop and park, savoring the fresh air and natural beauty around you. That lasts all of about 5 minutes before you realize that you need a little bit more to make the night complete.

You use your Hudly and Sygic to locate a small, family-owned gas station a few miles back and use your Hudly to guide the way, keeping your eyes on the road the entire time.

Once you arrive, you grab some popcorn, sour patch kids, and a coke and head back out to the spot you found with the nice view. You've got Netflix loaded up, your phone connected to your Hudly, and you're ready to kickback and relax, enjoying the view from your driver's seat as you watch your favorite movie and look at the stars at the same time.

Movie night for 1 with Hudly = success.
